Thomas Hall was elected into the Mid-Hudson USBC Hall of Fame for Service. At the age of 23 my mother Pauline Hall who was the secretary of the Newburgh Teachers League asked me if I wanted to bowl. This was the first time I participated in a bowling league. Forty one years later I have been the treasure and currently secretary of the same league which is now called the Patty Cake Play House League. I wanted to share my passion of bowling with my children and other youth bowlers so I started running the youth bowling league at Tarsio Lanes 30 years ago. My hope was to mentor youth bowlers teaching them the value of sportsmanship, teamwork and give them opportunities to bowl in various state and local tournaments. As my involvement grew with the youth program I became the President of the Hudson Valley Youth Association, and currently a Director in the Mid-Hudson Association. I am proud of the success of the youth program and hope it has enriched the lives of the many young bowlers thru out the years.

Congratulations Thomas!

Janice Thompson was elected into the Mid-Hudson USBC Hall of Fame for Service. In 1957 Janice joined her first sanctioned bowling league and has become active in bowling leagues since that time. In her early years of bowling, she became a certified coach for the Elk’s Junior Bowling League in Port Jervis. Janice has been the treasurer of the Tuesday Night Women’s league as well as serving as president of the league. She was the treasurer of the Diane Finkelstein league for several years. Currently she is still secretary/treasurer of two leagues, the Monday Afternoon Women’s League and the Leah Uszenski Wednesday Morning Sunshine league. She is a director in the association and has been actively involved working in tournaments and other fund-raising events such as the Mystery Doubles and the numbers raffle. In the course of working in the tournaments, she visited many establishments to gain sponsorships and prizes for the tournaments. She has assisted the association manager as needed.

Meeting Earl Anthony in the early sixties, and remembering his advice to improve one’s bowling, has given her the opportunity in the present day to use this advice to help other bowlers.

Congratulations Janice!
